<p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> no shrub of the field had yet grown on the earth, and no plant of the field<n id="2" /> had yet sprouted, for the <sc>Lordsc> God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to cultivate the ground.<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> the serpent<n id="2" /> was more shrewd<n id="3" />p> <p class="bodytext">than any of the wild animals<n id="4" /> that the <sc>Lordsc> God had made. He said to the woman, &#8220;Is it really true that<n id="5" /> God<n id="6" /> said, &#8216;You must not eat from any tree of the orchard&#8217;?&#8221;<n id="7" />

I am about to bring<n id="1" /> floodwaters<n id="2" /> on the earth to destroy<n id="3" /> from under the sky all the living creatures that have the breath of life in them.<n id="4" /> Everything that is on the earth will die,

<p class="bodytext">But God remembered<n id="1" /> Noah and all the wild animals and domestic animals that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to blow over<n id="2" /> the earth and the waters receded.

And the <sc>Lordsc> said, &#8220;If as one people all sharing a common language<n id="1" /> they have begun to do this, then<n id="2" /> nothing they plan to do will be beyond them.<n id="3" />

That is why its name was called<n id="1" /> Babel<n id="2" /> &#8211; because there the <sc>Lordsc> confused the language of the entire world, and from there the <sc>Lordsc> scattered them across the face of the entire earth.p>

If he said,<n id="1" /> &#8216;The speckled animals<n id="2" /> will be your wage,&#8217; then the entire flock gave birth to speckled offspring. But if he said, &#8216;The streaked animals will be your wage,&#8217; then the entire flock gave birth to streaked offspring.

Then he said, &#8216;Observe<n id="1" /> that all the male goats mating with<n id="2" /> the flock are streaked, speckled, or spotted, for I have observed all that Laban has done to you.

He took<n id="1" /> away all the livestock he had acquired in Paddan Aram and all his moveable property that he had accumulated. Then he set out toward the land of Canaan to return to his father Isaac.<n id="2" />p>

I am not worthy of all the faithful love<n id="1" /> you have shown<n id="2" /> your servant. With only my walking stick<n id="3" /> I crossed the Jordan,<n id="4" /> but now I have become two camps.

When all the land of Egypt experienced the famine, the people cried out to Pharaoh for food. Pharaoh said to all the people of Egypt,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Go to Joseph and do whatever he tells you.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Joseph was no longer able to control himself before all his attendants,<n id="1" /> so he cried out, &#8220;Make everyone go out from my presence!&#8221; No one remained<n id="2" /> with Joseph when he made himself known to his brothers.

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the cattle according to their kinds, and all the creatures that creep along the ground according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.p>
