And I will drive you out of my sight just like I drove out your relatives, the people of Israel.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then the <sc>Lordsc> said to me, &#8220;Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for<n id="1" /> these people, I would not feel pity for them!<n id="2" /> Get them away from me! Tell them to go away!<n id="3" />

So<n id="1" /> I will carry you far off<n id="2" /> and throw you away. I will send both you and the city I gave to you and to your ancestors out of my sight.<n id="3" />

I will bring war, starvation, and disease<n id="1" /> on them until they are completely destroyed from the land I gave them and their ancestors.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

Do not listen to them,<n id="1" /> because their prophecies are lies.<n id="2" /> Listening to them will only cause you<n id="3" /> to be taken far away from your native land. I will drive you out of your country and you will die in exile.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">But shortly after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah&#8217;s neck, the <sc>Lordsc> spoke to Jeremiah.

So the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;I will most assuredly remove<n id="1" /> you from the face of the earth. You will die this very year because you have counseled rebellion against the <sc>Lordsc>.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="poetry">When the time for them to be rescued comes,&#8221;<n id="1" />p> <p class="poetry">says the <sc>Lordsc> who rules over all,<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;I will rescue you from foreign subjugation.<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">I will deliver you from captivity.<n id="4" />p> <p class="poetry">Foreigners will then no longer subjugate them.p>

At that time the Babylonian forces<n id="1" /> had temporarily given up their siege against Jerusalem.<n id="2" /> They had had it under siege, but withdrew when they heard that the army of Pharaoh had set out from Egypt.<n id="3" />)

<p class="bodytext">What follows is a record of what happened to Jerusalem and Judah because of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s anger when he drove them out of his sight.<n id="1" /> Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped.<n id="1" /> When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel.p>

Then the glory of the <sc>Lordsc> arose from the cherub and moved to the threshold of the temple. The temple was filled with the cloud while the court was filled with the brightness of the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s glory.

When the cherubim moved, the wheels moved beside them; when the cherubim spread<n id="1" /> their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels did not move from their side.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Therefore say to the house of Israel, &#8216;This is what the sovereign <sc>Lordsc> says: Return! Turn from your idols, and turn your faces away from your abominations.

I will throw my net over him and he will be caught in my snare; I will bring him to Babylon and judge him there because of the unfaithfulness he committed against me.

When she lustfully exposed her nakedness,<n id="1" /> I<n id="2" /> was disgusted with her, just as I<n id="3" /> had been disgusted with her sister.

<p class="poetry">I will destroy all its cattle beside the plentiful waters;p> <p class="poetry">and no human foot will disturb<n id="1" /> the waters<n id="2" /> again,p> <p class="poetry">nor will the hooves of cattle disturb them.p>

to the space above the entrance, to the inner room, and on the outside, and on all the walls in the inner room and outside, by measurement.<n id="1" />

<t /><p class="poetry">O Israel, do not rejoice jubilantly<n id="1" /> like the nations,p> <p class="poetry">for you are unfaithful<n id="2" /> to your God.p> <p class="poetry">You love to receive a prostitute's wages<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">on all the floors where you thresh your grain.p>

<p class="poetry">I will plant them on their landp> <p class="poetry">and they will never again be uprooted from the<n id="1" /> land I have given them,&#8221;p> <p class="bodytext">says the <sc>Lordsc> your God.p>
