So ¹  it seemed good to me as well, ²  because I have followed ³  all things carefully from the beginning, to write an orderly account ⁴  for you, most excellent Theophilus,

John ¹  answered them, ²  “The person who has two tunics ³  must share with the person who has none, and the person who has food must do likewise.”

But when John rebuked Herod ¹  the tetrarch ²  because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, ³  and because of all the evil deeds ⁴  that he had done,

And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, ¹  yet ²  none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.” ³ 

So ¹  they motioned ²  to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they were about to sink. ³ 

But the news about him spread even more, ¹  and large crowds were gathering together to hear him ²  and to be healed of their illnesses.

Just then ¹  some men showed up, carrying a paralyzed man ²  on a stretcher. ³  They ⁴  were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus. ⁵ 

But ¹  the Pharisees ²  and their experts in the law ³  complained ⁴  to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” ⁵ 

After ¹  looking around ²  at them all, he said to the man, ³  “Stretch out your hand.” The man ⁴  did so, and his hand was restored. ⁵ 

“Blessed are you who hunger ¹  now, for you will be satisfied. ²  “Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. ³ 

“Do ¹  not judge, ²  and you will not be judged; ³  do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, ⁴  and you will be forgiven.

At that very time ¹  Jesus ²  cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, ³  and evil spirits, and granted ⁴  sight to many who were blind.

Now one of the Pharisees ¹  asked Jesus ²  to have dinner with him, so ³  he went into the Pharisee’s house and took his place at the table. ⁴ 

and also some women ¹  who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities: ²  Mary ³  (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, ¹  and the demonic spirits ²  begged Jesus ³  to let them go into them. He gave them permission. ⁴ 

After this ¹  the Lord appointed seventy-two ²  others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every town ³  and place where he himself was about to go.

But Jesus, ¹  realizing their thoughts, said to them, ²  “Every kingdom divided against itself is destroyed, ³  and a divided household falls. ⁴ 

So then ¹  whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered ²  in private rooms ³  will be proclaimed from the housetops. ⁴ 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  told this parable: “A man had a fig tree ³  planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.

Then ¹  shouldn’t ²  this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan ³  bound for eighteen long ⁴  years, be released from this imprisonment ⁵  on the Sabbath day?”
