The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. ¹ 

Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, took Moses’ wife Zipporah after he had sent her back,

He sent young Israelite men, ¹  and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls for peace offerings ²  to the Lord.

There I will meet ¹  with the Israelites, and it will be set apart as holy by my glory. ² 

And you are to tell the Israelites: ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil throughout your generations.

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face shone; ¹  and they were afraid to approach him.

After this all the Israelites approached, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken to him on Mount Sinai.

¹ Moses spoke to the whole community of the Israelites, “This is the word that the Lord has commanded:

The Israelites did all the work according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses.

But when the cloud was lifted up ¹  from the tabernacle, the Israelites would set out ²  on all their journeys;

But the more the Egyptians ¹  oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread. ²  As a result the Egyptians loathed ³  the Israelites,

God said to Moses, “I am that I am.” ¹  And he said, “You must say this ²  to the Israelites, ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

and I said to you, ‘Let my son go that he may serve ¹  me,’ but since you have refused to let him go, ²  I will surely kill ³  your son, your firstborn!”’”

and the people believed. When they heard ¹  that the Lord had attended to ²  the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground. ³ 

The Israelite foremen saw ¹  that they ²  were in trouble when they were told, ³  “You must not reduce the daily quota of your bricks.”

¹ Moses told this ²  to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him ³  because of their discouragement ⁴  and hard labor.

But Moses replied to ¹  the Lord, “If the Israelites did not listen to me, then ²  how will Pharaoh listen to me, since ³  I speak with difficulty?” ⁴ 

It was the same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, “Bring the Israelites out of the land of Egypt by their regiments.” ¹ 

They were the men who were speaking to Pharaoh king of Egypt, in order to bring the Israelites out of Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron.
