He declared<n id="1" /> in a loud voice: &#8220;Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has arrived, and worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">A<n id="1" /> second<n id="2" /> angel<n id="3" /> followed the first,<n id="4" /> declaring:<n id="5" /> &#8220;Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great city!<n id="6" /> She made all the nations<n id="7" /> drink of the wine of her immoral passion.&#8221;<n id="8" />p>

<p class="bodytext">A<n id="1" /> third angel<n id="2" /> followed the first two,<n id="3" /> declaring<n id="4" /> in a loud voice: &#8220;If anyone worships the beast and his image, and takes the mark on his forehead or his hand,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I heard a loud voice from the temple declaring to the seven angels: &#8220;Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God&#8217;s wrath.&#8221;<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and spoke to me.<n id="2" /> &#8220;Come,&#8221; he said, &#8220;I will show you the condemnation and punishment<n id="3" /> of the great prostitute who sits on many waters,

But<n id="1" /> the angel said to me, &#8220;Why are you astounded? I will interpret<n id="2" /> for you the mystery of the woman and of the beast with the seven heads and ten horns that carries her.

He<n id="1" /> shouted with a powerful voice:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Fallen, fallen, is Babylon the great!p> <p class="poetry">She<n id="2" /> has become a lair for demons,p> <p class="poetry">a haunt<n id="3" /> for every unclean spirit,p> <p class="poetry">a haunt for every unclean bird,p> <p class="poetry">a haunt for every unclean and detested beast.<n id="4" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I heard another voice from heaven saying, &#8220;Come out of her, my people, so you will not take part in her sins and so you will not receive her plagues,

As much as<n id="1" /> she exalted herself and lived in sensual luxury,<n id="2" /> to this extent give her torment and grief because she said to herself,<n id="3" /> &#8216;I rule as queen and am no widow; I will never experience grief!&#8217;

They will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment, and will say,p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Woe, woe, O great city,p> <p class="poetry">Babylon the powerful city!p> <p class="poetry">For in a single hour your doom<n id="1" /> has come!&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> one powerful angel picked up a stone like a huge millstone, threw it into the sea, and said,p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;With this kind of sudden violent force<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">Babylon the great city will be thrown down<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">and it will never be found again!p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> a voice came from the throne, saying:p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Praise our Godp> <p class="poetry">all you his servants,p> <p class="poetry">and all you who fear Him,p> <p class="poetry">both the small and the great!&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting:<n id="2" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Hallelujah!p> <p class="poetry">For the Lord our God,<n id="3" /> the All-Powerful,<n id="4" /> reigns!p>

<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> I saw one angel standing in<n id="2" /> the sun, and he shouted in a loud voice to all the birds flying high in the sky:<n id="3" />p> <p class="poetry">&#8220;Come, gather around for the great banquet<n id="4" /> of God,p>

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying: &#8220;Look! The residence<n id="1" /> of God is among human beings.<n id="2" /> He<n id="3" /> will live among them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">And the one seated on the throne said: &#8220;Look! I am making all things new!&#8221; Then<n id="1" /> he said to me, &#8220;Write it down,<n id="2" /> because these words are reliable<n id="3" /> and true.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the angel<n id="2" /> said to me, &#8220;These words are reliable<n id="3" /> and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants<n id="4" /> what must happen soon.&#8221;p>

But<n id="1" /> he said to me, &#8220;Do not do this!<n id="2" /> I am a fellow servant<n id="3" /> with you and with your brothers the prophets, and with those who obey<n id="4" /> the words of this book. Worship God!&#8221;

When he had contemplated this, an<n id="1" /> angel of the Lord<n id="2" /> appeared to him in a dream and said, &#8220;Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

<t /><p class="bodytext">After they had gone, an<n id="1" /> angel of the Lord<n id="2" /> appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, &#8220;Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod<n id="3" /> is going to look for the child to kill him.&#8221;
