Jehoiada the priest sent out the officers of the units of hundreds, who were in charge of the army, and ordered them, “Bring her outside the temple to the guards. ¹  Put the sword to anyone who follows her.” The priest gave this order because he had decided she should not be executed in the Lord’s temple. ² 

Uzziah, who had an incense censer in his hand, became angry. While he was ranting and raving ¹  at the priests, a skin disease ²  appeared on his forehead right there in front of the priests in the Lord’s temple near the incense altar.

On the first day of the first month they began consecrating; by the eighth day of the month they reached the porch of the Lord’s temple. ¹  For eight more days they consecrated the Lord’s temple. On the sixteenth day of the first month they were finished.

The priests left the holy place. ¹  All the priests who participated had consecrated themselves, no matter which division they represented. ² 

they brought in the contributions, tithes, ¹  and consecrated items that had been offered. ²  Konaniah, a Levite, was in charge of all this, assisted by his brother Shimei.

Many were bringing presents ¹  to the Lord in Jerusalem and precious gifts to King Hezekiah of Judah. From that time on he was respected by ²  all the nations.

They burned down the Lord’s temple and tore down the wall of Jerusalem. ¹  They burned all its fortified buildings and destroyed all its valuable items.

Of course, who can really build a temple for him, since the sky ¹  and the highest heavens cannot contain him? Who am I that I should build him a temple! It will really be only a place to offer sacrifices before him. ² 

He also made the big bronze basin called “The Sea.” ¹  It measured 15 feet ²  from rim to rim, was circular in shape, and stood seven and one-half feet ³  high. Its circumference was 45 feet. ⁴ 

So the king of Israel assembled 400 prophets and asked them, “Should we attack Ramoth Gilead or not?” ¹  They said, “Attack! God ²  will hand it over to the king.”

Micaiah ¹  said, “That being the case, hear the word of the Lord: I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, with all the heavenly assembly standing on his right and on his left.

They handed it over to the construction foremen ¹  assigned to the Lord’s temple. They in turn paid the temple workers to restore and repair it. ² 

He made a bronze altar, 30 feet ¹  long, 30 feet ²  wide, and 15 feet ³  high.

He made the courtyard of the priests and the large enclosure and its doors; ¹  he plated their doors with bronze.

Now, O Lord God of Israel, may the promise you made to your servant David be realized. ¹ 

She said to the king, “The report I heard in my own country about your wise sayings and insight ¹  was true!

and Asa went out to oppose him. They deployed for battle in the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah.

They solemnly agreed ¹  to seek the Lord God of their ancestors ²  with their whole heart and being.

Asa passed away ¹  in the forty-first year of his reign.

His body was carried back by horses, ¹  and he was buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors ²  in the City of David. ³
