<p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> the Judeans<n id="2" /> responded,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Now we know you&#8217;re possessed by a demon!<n id="4" /> Both Abraham and the prophets died, and yet<n id="5" /> you say, &#8216;If anyone obeys<n id="6" /> my teaching,<n id="7" /> he will never experience<n id="8" /> death.&#8217;<n id="9" />

Jesus said to her, &#8220;Believe me, woman,<n id="1" /> a time<n id="2" /> is coming when you will worship<n id="3" /> the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

<p class="bodytext">Jesus said, &#8220;Have<n id="1" /> the people sit down.&#8221; (Now there was a lot of grass in that place.)<n id="2" /> So the men<n id="3" /> sat down, about five thousand in number.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;Do not be amazed at this, because a time<n id="1" /> is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now at that very moment his disciples came back.<n id="1" /> They were shocked<n id="2" /> because he was speaking<n id="3" /> with a woman. However, no one said, &#8220;What do you want?&#8221;<n id="4" /> or &#8220;Why are you speaking with her?&#8221;

The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth,<n id="1" /> and a cloth wrapped around his face.<n id="2" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;Unwrap him<n id="3" /> and let him go.&#8221;p>

(Now Judas<n id="1" /> said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief. As keeper of the money box,<n id="2" /> he used to steal what was put into it.)<n id="3" />

Jesus replied,<n id="1" /> &#8220;The light is with you for a little while longer.<n id="2" /> Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you.<n id="3" /> The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

(Now the slaves<n id="1" /> and the guards<n id="2" /> were standing around a charcoal fire they had made, warming themselves because it was cold.<n id="3" /> Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.)<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">After this, Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus (but secretly, because he feared the Jewish leaders<n id="1" />),<n id="2" /> asked Pilate if he could remove the body of Jesus. Pilate<n id="3" /> gave him permission, so he went and took the body away.<n id="4" />

came to Jesus<n id="1" /> at night<n id="2" /> and said to him, &#8220;Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs<n id="3" /> that you do unless God is with him.&#8221;

Yet<n id="1" /> you do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him,<n id="2" /> I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey<n id="3" /> his teaching.<n id="4" />

The hired hand,<n id="1" /> who is not a shepherd and does not own sheep, sees the wolf coming and abandons<n id="2" /> the sheep and runs away.<n id="3" /> So the wolf attacks<n id="4" /> the sheep and scatters them.

Children, I am still with you for a little while. You will look for me,<n id="1" /> and just as I said to the Jewish religious leaders,<n id="2" /> &#8216;Where I am going you cannot come,&#8217;<n id="3" /> now I tell you the same.<n id="4" />p>

Remember what<n id="1" /> I told you, &#8216;A slave<n id="2" /> is not greater than his master.&#8217;<n id="3" /> If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they obeyed<n id="4" /> my word, they will obey<n id="5" /> yours too.

<p class="bodytext">Now when the soldiers crucified<n id="1" /> Jesus, they took his clothes and made four shares, one for each soldier,<n id="2" /> and the tunic<n id="3" /> remained. (Now the tunic<n id="4" /> was seamless, woven from top to bottom as a single piece.)<n id="5" />

Don&#8217;t the scriptures say that the Christ is <i>a descendanti><n id="1" /> <i>of Davidi><n id="2" /> and <i>comes from Bethlehemi>,<n id="3" /> the village where David lived?&#8221;<n id="4" />

One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved,<n id="1" /> was at the table<n id="2" /> to the right of Jesus in a place of honor.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;But I have a testimony greater than that from John. For the deeds<n id="1" /> that the Father has assigned me to complete &#8211; the deeds<n id="2" /> I am now doing &#8211; testify about me that the Father has sent me.

Jesus said, &#8220;Take away the stone.&#8221;<n id="1" /> Martha, the sister of the deceased,<n id="2" /> replied, &#8220;Lord, by this time the body will have a bad smell,<n id="3" /> because he has been buried<n id="4" /> four days.&#8221;<n id="5" />
