Then Jesus said to his disciples, &#8220;If anyone wants to become my follower,<n id="1" /> he must deny<n id="2" /> himself, take up his cross,<n id="3" /> and follow me.

So<n id="1" /> Peter said<n id="2" /> to Jesus, &#8220;Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, I will make<n id="3" /> three shelters<n id="4" /> &#8211; one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Do not tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.&#8221;

Jesus answered,<n id="1" /> &#8220;You<n id="2" /> unbelieving<n id="3" /> and perverse generation! How much longer<n id="4" /> must I be with you? How much longer must I endure<n id="5" /> you?<n id="6" /> Bring him here to me.&#8221;

and said, &#8216;<b><i>For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and the two will become one fleshi>b>&#8217;?<n id="1" />

But Jesus said, &#8220;Let the little children come to me and do not try to stop them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.&#8221;<n id="1" />

He said to him, &#8220;Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.&#8221;

Jesus<n id="1" /> answered, &#8220;You don&#8217;t know what you are asking!<n id="2" /> Are you able to drink the cup I am about to drink?&#8221;<n id="3" /> They said to him, &#8220;We are able.&#8221;<n id="4" />

Where did John&#8217;s baptism come from? From heaven or from people?&#8221;<n id="1" /> They discussed this among themselves, saying, &#8220;If we say, &#8216;From heaven,&#8217; he will say, &#8216;Then why did you not believe him?&#8217;

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, &#8216;This is the heir. Come, let&#8217;s kill him and get his inheritance!&#8217;

Again he sent other slaves, saying, &#8216;Tell those who have been invited, &#8220;Look! The feast I have prepared for you is ready.<n id="1" /> My oxen and fattened cattle have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.&#8221;&#8217;

Then the king said to his attendants, &#8216;Tie him up hand and foot and throw him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!&#8217;

&#8220;Teacher, Moses said, &#8216;<b><i>If a man dies without having children, his brother must marry the widow and father childreni>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>for his brotheri>b>.&#8217;<n id="2" />

And he said to them,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Do you see all these things? I tell you the truth,<n id="2" /> not one stone will be left on another.<n id="3" /> All will be torn down!&#8221;<n id="4" />p>

Then the one who had received the one talent came and said, &#8216;Sir, I knew that you were a hard man, harvesting where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter seed,

But his master answered,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Evil and lazy slave! So you knew that I harvest where I didn&#8217;t sow and gather where I didn&#8217;t scatter?

<t /><p class="bodytext">While<n id="1" /> they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, &#8220;Take, eat, this is my body.&#8221;

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, &#8220;Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw?<n id="1" /> Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet<n id="2" /> you did not arrest me.

Jesus said to him, &#8220;You have said it yourself. But I tell you, from now on you will see the Son of Man <i>sitting at the right handi><n id="1" /> of the Power<n id="2" /> and <i>coming on the clouds of heaveni>.&#8221;<n id="3" />

After<n id="1" /> a little while, those standing there came up to Peter and said, &#8220;You really are one of them too &#8211; even your accent<n id="2" /> gives you away!&#8221;
