<p class="bodytext">That day Isaac&#8217;s servants came and told him about the well they had dug. &#8220;We&#8217;ve found water,&#8221; they reported.<n id="1" />

Jacob also deceived<n id="1" /> Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was leaving.<n id="2" />

Why did you run away secretly<n id="1" /> and deceive me?<n id="2" /> Why didn&#8217;t you tell me so I could send you off with a celebration complete with singing, tambourines, and harps?<n id="3" />

I have oxen, donkeys, sheep, and male and female servants. I have sent<n id="1" /> this message<n id="2" /> to inform my lord, so that I may find favor in your sight.&#8217;&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Jacob asked, &#8220;Please tell me your name.&#8221;<n id="1" /> &#8220;Why<n id="2" /> do you ask my name?&#8221; the man replied.<n id="3" /> Then he blessed<n id="4" /> Jacob<n id="5" /> there.

<p class="bodytext">After three months Judah was told,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Your daughter-in-law Tamar has turned to prostitution,<n id="2" /> and as a result she has become pregnant.&#8221;<n id="3" /> Judah said, &#8220;Bring her out and let her be burned!&#8221;

The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads of grain. So I told all this<n id="1" /> to the diviner-priests, but no one could tell me its meaning.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, &#8220;Both dreams of Pharaoh have the same meaning.<n id="1" /> God has revealed<n id="2" /> to Pharaoh what he is about to do.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">They returned to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan and told him all the things that had happened to them, saying,

So tell<n id="1" /> my father about all my honor in Egypt and about everything you have seen. But bring my father down here quickly!&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

They told him, &#8220;Joseph is still alive and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt!&#8221; Jacob was stunned,<n id="1" /> for he did not believe them.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Joseph went and told Pharaoh, &#8220;My father, my brothers, their flocks and herds, and all that they own have arrived from the land ofp> <p class="bodytext">Canaan. They are now<n id="1" /> in the land of Goshen.&#8221;

When Jacob was told,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Your son Joseph has just<n id="2" /> come to you,&#8221; Israel regained strength and sat up on his bed.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Jacob called for his sons and said, &#8220;Gather together so I can tell you<n id="1" /> what will happen to you in the future.<n id="2" />p>

Moses told Aaron all the words of the <sc>Lordsc> who had<n id="1" /> sent him and all the signs that he had commanded him.

And<n id="1" /> on the sixth day they gathered twice as much food, two omers<n id="2" /> per person;<n id="3" /> and all the leaders<n id="4" /> of the community<n id="5" /> came and told<n id="6" /> Moses.

<p class="bodytext">Moses<n id="1" /> went up to God, and the <sc>Lordsc> called to him from the mountain, &#8220;Thus you will tell the house of Jacob, and declare to the people<n id="2" /> of Israel:

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;When a person sins<n id="1" /> in that he hears a public curse against one who fails to testify<n id="2" /> and he is a witness (he either saw or knew what had happened<n id="3" />) and he does not make it known,<n id="4" /> then he will bear his punishment for iniquity.<n id="5" />

Balaam said to Balak, &#8220;Station yourself<n id="1" /> by your burnt offering, and I will go off; perhaps the <sc>Lordsc> will come to meet me, and whatever he reveals to me<n id="2" /> I will tell you.&#8221;<n id="3" /> Then he went to a deserted height.<n id="4" />p>

And he revealed to you the covenant<n id="1" /> he has commanded you to keep, the ten commandments,<n id="2" /> writing them on two stone tablets.
