So Absalom’s servants did to Amnon exactly what Absalom had instructed. Then all the king’s sons got up; each one rode away on his mule and fled.p>

<p class="bodytext">In the meantime Absalom fled. When the servant who was the watchman looked up, he saw many people coming from the west<n id="1" /> on a road beside the hill.

<p class="bodytext">Then the king said to Joab, &#8220;All right! I<n id="1" /> will do this thing! Go and bring back the young man Absalom!

But a young man saw them on one occasion and informed Absalom. So the two of them quickly departed and went to the house of a man in Bahurim. There was a well in his courtyard, and they got down in it.

<p class="bodytext">One of Joab&#8217;s soldiers who stood over Amasa said, &#8220;Whoever is for<n id="1" /> Joab and whoever is for David, follow Joab!&#8221;

Now, O <sc>Lordsc> my God, you have made your servant king in my father David&#8217;s place, even though I am only a young man and am inexperienced.<n id="1" />

Hadad,<n id="1" /> who was only a small boy at the time, escaped with some of his father&#8217;s Edomite servants and headed for Egypt.<n id="2" />

Jeroboam was a talented man;<n id="1" /> when Solomon saw that the young man was an accomplished worker, he made him the leader of the work crew from the tribe<n id="2" /> of Joseph.

Take<n id="1" /> ten loaves of bread, some small cakes, and a container of honey and visit him. He will tell you what will happen to the boy.&#8221;p>

He told his servant, &#8220;Go on up and look in the direction of the sea.&#8221; So he went on up, looked, and reported, &#8220;There is nothing.&#8221;<n id="1" /> Seven times Elijah sent him to look.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Elijah was afraid,<n id="1" /> so he got up and fled for his life to Beer Sheba in Judah. He left his servant there,

Ahab asked, &#8220;By whom will this be accomplished?&#8221;<n id="1" /> He answered, &#8220;This is what the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;By the servants of the district governors.&#8217;&#8221; Ahab<n id="2" /> asked, &#8220;Who will launch the attack?&#8221; He answered, &#8220;You will.&#8221;p>

The servants of the district governors led the march. When Ben Hadad sent messengers, they reported back to him, &#8220;Men are marching out of Samaria.&#8221;<n id="1" />

She called to her husband, &#8220;Send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, so I can go see the prophet quickly and then return.&#8221;

She saddled the donkey and told her servant, &#8220;Lead on.<n id="1" /> Do not stop unless I say so.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now Elisha went back to Gilgal, while there was famine in the land. Some of the prophets were visiting him<n id="1" /> and he told his servant, &#8220;Put the big pot on the fire<n id="2" /> and boil some stew for the prophets.&#8221;<n id="3" />

So he went down and dipped in the Jordan seven times, as the prophet had instructed.<n id="1" /> His skin became as smooth as a young child&#8217;s<n id="2" /> and he was healed.p>

Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet&#8217;s<n id="1" /> servant, and said, &#8220;Tell me all the great things which Elisha has done.&#8221;

At that time I instructed<n id="1" /> the people, &#8220;Let every man and his coworker spend the night in Jerusalem and let them be guards for us by night and workers by day.

We did not change clothes<n id="1" /> &#8211; not I, nor my relatives, nor my workers, nor the watchmen who were with me. Each had his weapon, even when getting a drink of water.<n id="2" />p>
