<t /><p class="bodytext">Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem.<n id="1" /> He did not do what pleased the <sc>Lordsc>, in contrast to his ancestor David.<n id="2" />

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he ruled in Jerusalem<n id="2" /> for eleven years. His mother&#8217;s name was Hamutal<n id="3" /> daughter of Jeremiah, from Libnah.

<t /><p class="bodytext">In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month,<n id="1" /> the word of the <sc>Lordsc> came to me:

From that time<n id="1" /> when one came expecting a heap of twenty measures, there were only ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty measures from it, there were only twenty.

In the fourteenth year, Kedorlaomer and the kings who were his allies came and defeated<n id="1" /> the Rephaites in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzites in Ham, the Emites in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
