So the whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him to death,<n id="1" /> just as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses.p>

Then they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground<n id="1" /> and said, &#8220;O God, the God of the spirits of all people,<n id="2" /> will you be angry with the whole community when only one man sins?&#8221;<n id="3" />p>

Then Moses said, &#8220;This is how<n id="1" /> you will know that the <sc>Lordsc> has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of my own will.<n id="2" />

But on the next day the whole community of Israelites murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying, &#8220;You have killed the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s people!&#8221;<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;All the best of the olive oil and all the best of the wine and of the wheat, the first fruits of these things that they give to the <sc>Lordsc>, I have given to you.<n id="1" />

See, I have given the Levites all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they perform &#8211; the service of the tent of meeting.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;This is the law: When a man dies<n id="1" /> in a tent, anyone who comes into the tent and all who are in the tent will be ceremonially unclean seven days.

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Then the entire community of Israel<n id="2" /> entered the wilderness of Zin in the first month,<n id="3" /> and the people stayed in Kadesh.<n id="4" /> Miriam died and was buried there.<n id="5" />p>

<t /><n id="1" /><p class="bodytext">Moses<n id="2" /> sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom:<n id="3" /> &#8220;Thus says your brother Israel: &#8216;You know all the hardships we have experienced,<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> said to Moses, &#8220;Make a poisonous snake and set it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks<n id="1" /> at it, he will live.&#8221;

So Israel took all these cities; and Israel settled in all the cities of the Amorites, in Heshbon, and in all its villages.<n id="1" />

So they defeated Og,<n id="1" /> his sons, and all his people, until there were no survivors,<n id="2" /> and they possessed his land.p>

But Balaam replied<n id="1" /> to Balak, &#8220;Did I not tell you, &#8216;All that the <sc>Lordsc> speaks,<n id="2" /> I must do&#8217;?&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">So Moses did as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded him; he took Joshua and set<n id="1" /> him before Eleazar the priest and before the whole community.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;Also, on the day of the first fruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the <sc>Lordsc> during your Feast of Weeks, you are to have a holy assembly. You must do no ordinary work.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;On the first day of the seventh month, you are to hold a holy assembly. You must not do your ordinary work, for it is a day of blowing trumpets for you.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;&#8216;On the tenth day of this seventh month you are to have a holy assembly. You must humble yourselves;<n id="1" /> you must not do any work on it.

and her husband heard about it, but remained silent about her, and did not overrule her, then all her vows will stand, and every obligation which she pledged for herself will stand.

and 32,000 young women who had never had sexual intercourse with a man.<n id="1" />p>

So the <sc>Lordsc>&#8217;s anger was kindled against the Israelites, and he made them wander in the wilderness for forty years, until all that generation that had done wickedly before<n id="1" /> the <sc>Lordsc> was finished.<n id="2" />
