The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a prophet and that the Lord really does speak through you.” ¹ 

Now Adonijah and all his guests heard the commotion just as they had finished eating. ¹  When Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, he asked, “Why is there such a noisy commotion in the city?” ² 

¹ The Lord said ²  to Solomon:

The king then told Abiathar the priest, “Go back to your property ¹  in Anathoth. You deserve to die, ²  but today I will not kill you because you did carry the ark of the sovereign Lord before my father David and you suffered with my father through all his difficult times.” ³ 

So Hiram supplied the cedars and evergreens Solomon needed, ¹ 

But God told Shemaiah the prophet, ¹ 

Ben Hadad ¹  said, “I will return the cities my father took from your father. You may set up markets ²  in Damascus, just as my father did in Samaria.” ³  Ahab then said, “I want to make a treaty with you before I dismiss you.” ⁴  So he made a treaty with him and then dismissed him.

When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “He must be the king of Israel.” So they turned and attacked him, but Jehoshaphat cried out.

When they return to you with all their heart and being ¹  in the land where they are held prisoner, ²  and direct their prayers to you toward the land you gave to their ancestors, your chosen city, and the temple I built for your honor, ³ 

The other woman said, “No! My son is alive; your son is dead!” But the first woman replied, “No, your son is dead; my son is alive.” Each presented her case before the king. ¹ 

He built a wall 30 feet in from the rear of the temple as a partition for an inner sanctuary that would be the most holy place. ¹  He paneled the wall with cedar planks from the floor to the rafters. ² 

“Have you noticed how Ahab shows remorse ¹  before me? Because he shows remorse before me, I will not bring disaster on his dynasty during his lifetime, but during the reign of his son.” ² 

All of Adonijah’s guests panicked; ¹  they jumped up and rushed off their separate ways.

When David was close to death, ¹  he told ²  Solomon his son:

But King Solomon will be empowered ¹  and David’s dynasty ²  will endure permanently before the Lord.”

The main hall in front of the inner sanctuary was 60 feet long. ¹ 

Then the king turned around ¹  and pronounced a blessing over the whole Israelite assembly as they stood there. ² 

Now my father David had a strong desire ¹  to build a temple to honor the Lord God of Israel. ² 

Now, O God of Israel, may the promise you made ¹  to your servant, my father David, be realized. ² 

then listen from heaven, forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them back to the land you gave to their ancestors.
