For they all offered their gifts out of their wealth.<n id="1" /> But she, out of her poverty, put in everything she had to live on.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

Day after day when I was with you in the temple courts,<n id="1" /> you did not arrest me.<n id="2" /> But this is your hour,<n id="3" /> and that of the power<n id="4" /> of darkness!&#8221;p>

Then one of them, named Cleopas, answered him,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who doesn&#8217;t know<n id="2" /> the things that have happened there<n id="3" /> in these days?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> this was<n id="2" /> John&#8217;s<n id="3" /> testimony<n id="4" /> when the Jewish leaders<n id="5" /> sent<n id="6" /> priests and Levites from Jerusalem<n id="7" /> to ask him, &#8220;Who are you?&#8221;<n id="8" />

Now this is the basis for judging:<n id="1" /> that the light has come into the world and people<n id="2" /> loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands by and listens for him, rejoices greatly<n id="1" /> when he hears the bridegroom&#8217;s voice. This then is my joy, and it is complete.<n id="2" />

When Jesus heard this, he said, &#8220;This sickness will not lead to death,<n id="1" /> but to God&#8217;s glory,<n id="2" /> so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.&#8221;<n id="3" />

Then the people<n id="1" /> who were with Mary<n id="2" /> in the house consoling her saw her<n id="3" /> get up quickly and go out. They followed her, because they thought she was going to the tomb to weep<n id="4" /> there.p>

&#8220;For it is written in the book of Psalms, &#8216;<b><i>Let his house become deserted,i>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>and let there be no one to live in iti>b>,&#8217;<n id="2" /> and &#8216;<b><i>Let another take his position of responsibilityi>b>.&#8217;<n id="3" />

So in this case I say to you, stay away from these men and leave them alone, because if this plan or this undertaking originates with people,<n id="1" /> it will come to nothing,<n id="2" />

He<n id="1" /> did not give any of it to him for an inheritance,<n id="2" /> not even a foot of ground,<n id="3" /> yet God<n id="4" /> promised <i>to give it to him as his possession, and to his descendants after himi>,<n id="5" /> even though Abraham<n id="6" /> as yet had no child.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then an angel of the Lord<n id="1" /> said to Philip,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Get up and go south<n id="3" /> on the road that goes down from Jerusalem<n id="4" /> to Gaza.&#8221; (This is a desert<n id="5" /> road.)<n id="6" />

Now the passage of scripture the man<n id="1" /> was reading was this:p> <p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<b><i>He was led like a sheep to slaughter,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and like a lamb before its shearer is silent,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>so he didi>b><n id="2" /> <i><b>not open his mouthb>.i>p>

Because Lydda<n id="1" /> was near Joppa, when the disciples heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him and urged him, &#8220;Come to us without delay.&#8221;<n id="2" />

She followed behind Paul and us and kept crying out,<n id="1" /> &#8220;These men are servants<n id="2" /> of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way<n id="3" /> of salvation.&#8221;<n id="4" />

She continued to do this for many days. But Paul became greatly annoyed,<n id="1" /> and turned<n id="2" /> and said to the spirit, &#8220;I command you in the name of Jesus Christ<n id="3" /> to come out of her!&#8221; And it came out of her at once.<n id="4" />

<p class="bodytext">To the rest I say &#8211; I, not the Lord<n id="1" /> &#8211; if a brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is happy to live with him, he should not divorce her.

<t /><p class="bodytext">For our reason for confidence<n id="1" /> is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives<n id="2" /> and sincerity which are from God<n id="3" /> &#8211; not by human wisdom<n id="4" /> but by the grace of God &#8211; we conducted ourselves in the world, and all the more<n id="5" /> toward you.

&#8220;<i><b>This is the covenant that I will establish with them after those daysb>, <b>says the Lordb>. <b>I will putb>i><n id="1" /> <b><i>my laws on their hearts and I will inscribe them on their mindsi>b>,&#8221;<n id="2" />

Pure and undefiled religion before<n id="1" /> God the Father<n id="2" /> is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world.p>
