I would rather appeal<n id="1" /> to you on the basis of love &#8211; I, Paul, an old man<n id="2" /> and even now a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus<n id="3" /> &#8211;

<t /><p class="bodytext">From James,<n id="1" /> a slave<n id="2" /> of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes dispersed abroad.<n id="3" /> Greetings!p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">My brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> do not show prejudice<n id="2" /> if you possess faith<n id="3" /> in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.<n id="4" />

May grace and peace be lavished on you<n id="1" /> as you grow<n id="2" /> in the rich knowledge<n id="3" /> of God and of Jesus our Lord!<n id="4" />p>

For thus an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be richly provided for you.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">But you, dear friends &#8211; recall the predictions<n id="1" /> foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.<n id="2" />

maintain<n id="1" /> yourselves in the love of God, while anticipating<n id="2" /> the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that brings eternal life.<n id="3" />

who then<n id="1" /> testified to everything that he saw concerning the word of God and the testimony about<n id="2" /> Jesus Christ.

This requires<n id="1" /> the steadfast endurance<n id="2" /> of the saints &#8211; those who obey<n id="3" /> God&#8217;s commandments and hold to<n id="4" /> their faith in Jesus.<n id="5" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">After Jesus was born in Bethlehem<n id="1" /> in Judea, in the time<n id="2" /> of King Herod,<n id="3" /> wise men<n id="4" /> from the East came to Jerusalem<n id="5" />

Then<n id="1" /> the entire town<n id="2" /> came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they begged him to leave their region.p>

As<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> was having a meal<n id="3" /> in Matthew&#8217;s<n id="4" /> house, many tax collectors<n id="5" /> and sinners came and ate with Jesus and his disciples.

Then John&#8217;s<n id="1" /> disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.p>

Then the disciples came<n id="1" /> to Jesus privately and said, &#8220;Why couldn&#8217;t we cast it out?&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">At that time the disciples came to Jesus saying, &#8220;Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?&#8221;

So<n id="1" /> they answered Jesus,<n id="2" /> &#8220;We don&#8217;t know.&#8221;<n id="3" /> Then he said to them, &#8220;Neither will I tell you<n id="4" /> by what authority<n id="5" /> I am doing these things.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now on the first day of the feast of<n id="1" /> Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus and said,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?&#8221;<n id="3" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A<n id="1" /> slave girl<n id="2" /> came to him and said, &#8220;You also were with Jesus the Galilean.&#8221;

When<n id="1" /> he went out to the gateway, another slave girl<n id="2" /> saw him and said to the people there, &#8220;This man was with Jesus the Nazarene.&#8221;
