or when jealous feelings come over a man and he becomes suspicious of his wife; then he must have the woman stand before the <sc>Lordsc>, and the priest will carry out all this law upon her.

<t /><p class="bodytext">They came back<n id="1" /> to Moses and Aaron and to the whole community of the Israelites in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh.<n id="2" /> They reported<n id="3" /> to the whole community and showed the fruit of the land.

For all the people have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have tempted<n id="1" /> me now these ten times,<n id="2" /> and have not obeyed me,<n id="3" />

According to the number of the days you have investigated this land, forty days &#8211; one day for a year &#8211; you will suffer for<n id="1" /> your iniquities, forty years, and you will know what it means to thwart me.<n id="2" />

You must have this tassel so that you may look at it and remember all the commandments of the <sc>Lordsc> and obey them and so that you do not follow<n id="1" /> after your own heart and your own eyes that lead you to unfaithfulness.<n id="2" />

Then he said to Korah and to all his company, &#8220;In the morning the <sc>Lordsc> will make known who are his, and who is holy. He will cause that person<n id="1" /> to approach him; the person he has chosen he will cause to approach him.

Does it seem too small a thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the community of Israel to bring you near to himself, to perform the service of the tabernacle of the <sc>Lord,sc> and to stand before the community to minister to them?

&#8220;Speak to the Israelites, and receive from them a staff from each tribe,<n id="1" /> one from every tribal leader,<n id="2" /> twelve staffs; you must write each man&#8217;s name on his staff.

&#8220;You are to speak to the Levites, and you must tell them, &#8216;When you receive from the Israelites the tithe that I have given you from them as your inheritance, then you are to offer up<n id="1" /> from it as a raised offering to the <sc>Lordsc> a tenth of the tithe.

And Moses removed Aaron&#8217;s garments and put them on his son Eleazar. So Aaron died there on the top of the mountain. And Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain.

and went after the Israelite man into the tent<n id="1" /> and thrust through the Israelite man and into the woman&#8217;s abdomen.<n id="2" /> So the plague was stopped from the Israelites.<n id="3" />

&#8220;Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites, when he manifested such zeal<n id="1" /> for my sake among them, so that I did not consume the Israelites in my zeal.<n id="2" />

and if his father has no brothers, then you are to give his inheritance to his relative nearest to him from his family, and he will possess it. This will be for the Israelites a legal requirement,<n id="1" /> as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses.&#8217;&#8221;p>

But if when her husband hears it he overrules her, then he will nullify<n id="1" /> the vow she has taken,<n id="2" /> and whatever she uttered impulsively which she has pledged for herself. And the <sc>Lordsc> will release her from it.p>

But if her husband remains completely silent<n id="1" /> about her from day to day, he thus confirms all her vows or all her obligations which she is under; he confirms them because he remained silent about when he heard them.

They brought the captives and the spoils and the plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the Israelite community, to the camp on the plains<n id="1" /> of Moab, along the Jordan River<n id="2" /> across from Jericho.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">From the Israelites&#8217; share Moses took one of every fifty people and animals and gave them to the Levites who were responsible for the care of the Lord&#8217;s tabernacle, just as the <sc>Lordsc> commanded Moses.p>

So Moses and Eleazar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and commanders<n id="1" /> of hundreds and brought it into the tent of meeting as a memorial<n id="2" /> for the Israelites before the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

You must divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families. To a larger group you must give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group you must give a smaller inheritance. Everyone&#8217;s inheritance must be in the place where his lot falls. You must inherit according to your ancestral<n id="1" /> tribes.

The community must deliver the slayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the community must restore him to the town of refuge to which he fled, and he must live there<n id="1" /> until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the consecrated oil.
