Get up! They said to Joshua, &#8220;It was carefully reported to your subjects<n id="1" /> how the <sc>Lordsc> your God commanded Moses his servant to assign you the whole land and to destroy all who live in the land from before you. Because of you we were terrified<n id="2" /> we would lose our lives, so we did this thing.

At sunset Joshua ordered his men to take them down from the trees.<n id="1" /> They threw them into the cave where they had hidden and piled large stones over the mouth of the cave. (They remain to this very day.)<n id="2" />p>

The rest of Manasseh&#8217;s descendants were also assigned land<n id="1" /> by their clans, including the descendants of Abiezer, Helek, Asriel, Shechem, Hepher, and Shemida. These are the male descendants of Manasseh son of Joseph by their clans.p>

But the woman hid the two men<n id="1" /> and replied, &#8220;Yes, these men were clients of mine,<n id="2" /> but I didn&#8217;t know where they came from.

Joshua sent them away and they went to their hiding place<n id="1" /> west of Ai, between Bethel<n id="2" /> and Ai.<n id="3" /> Joshua spent that night with the army.<n id="4" />p>
