<p class="bodytext">God said, &#8220;No, Sarah your wife is going to bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac.<n id="1" /> I will confirm my covenant with him as a perpetual<n id="2" /> covenant for his descendants after him.

So you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very<n id="1" /> day I brought your regiments<n id="2" /> out from the land of Egypt, and so you must keep this day perpetually as a lasting ordinance.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Moses said to the people, &#8220;Do not fear!<n id="1" /> Stand firm<n id="2" /> and see<n id="3" /> the salvation<n id="4" /> of the <sc>Lordsc> that he will provide<n id="5" /> for you today; for the Egyptians that you see today you will never, ever see again.<n id="6" />

In the tent of meeting<n id="1" /> outside the curtain that is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons are to arrange it from evening<n id="2" /> to morning before the <sc>Lordsc>. This is to be a lasting ordinance among the Israelites for generations to come.<n id="3" />p>

These must be on Aaron and his sons when they enter<n id="1" /> to the tent of meeting, or when they approach<n id="2" /> the altar to minister in the Holy Place, so that they bear no iniquity and die.<n id="3" /> It is to be a perpetual ordinance for him and for his descendants<n id="4" /> after him.<n id="5" />p>

It is to belong to Aaron and to his sons from the Israelites, by a perpetual ordinance, for it is a contribution. It is to be a contribution from the Israelites from their peace offerings, their contribution to the <sc>Lordsc>.p>

for the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution offering I have taken from the Israelites out of their peace offering sacrifices and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons from the people of Israel as a perpetual allotted portion.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />p>

The thigh of the contribution offering and the breast of the wave offering they must bring in addition to the gifts of the fat parts to wave them as a wave offering before the <sc>Lordsc>, and it will belong to you and your sons with you for a perpetual statute just as the <sc>Lordsc> has commanded.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;This is to be a perpetual statute for you.<n id="1" /> In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you must humble yourselves<n id="2" /> and do no work of any kind,<n id="3" /> both the native citizen and the foreigner who resides<n id="4" /> in your midst,

This is to be a perpetual statute for you<n id="1" /> to make atonement for the Israelites for<n id="2" /> all their sins once a year.&#8221;<n id="3" /> So he did just as the <sc>Lordsc> had commanded Moses.<n id="4" />p>

You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until this very day,<n id="1" /> until you bring the offering of your God. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations<n id="2" /> in all the places where you live.p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">The <sc>Lordsc> spoke to Aaron, &#8220;See, I have given you the responsibility for my raised offerings; I have given all the holy things of the Israelites to you as your priestly portion<n id="1" /> and to your sons as a perpetual ordinance.

<p class="bodytext">&#8220;And this is yours: the raised offering of their gift, along with all the wave offerings of the Israelites. I have given them to you and to your sons and daughters with you as a perpetual ordinance. Everyone who is ceremonially clean in your household may eat of it.p>

But the Levites must perform the service<n id="1" /> of the tent of meeting, and they must bear their iniquity.<n id="2" /> It will be a perpetual ordinance throughout your generations that among the Israelites the Levites<n id="3" /> have no inheritance.<n id="4" />

Pay careful attention to all these things I am commanding you so that it may always go well with you and your children after you when you do what is good and right in the sight of the <sc>Lordsc> your God.p>

You must gather all of its plunder into the middle of the plaza<n id="1" /> and burn the city and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the <sc>Lordsc> your God. It will be an abandoned ruin<n id="2" /> forever &#8211; it must never be rebuilt again.

tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing<n id="1" /> before the ark of the covenant of the <sc>Lordsc>. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing.<n id="2" /> These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.&#8221;p>

That day Moses made this solemn promise:<n id="1" /> &#8216;Surely the land on which you walked<n id="2" /> will belong to you and your descendants permanently,<n id="3" /> for you remained loyal to the <sc>Lordsc> your God.&#8217;

<p class="bodytext">Therefore the <sc>Lordsc>, the God of Israel, says, &#8216;I really did say<n id="1" /> that your house and your ancestor&#8217;s house would serve<n id="2" /> me forever.&#8217; But now the <sc>Lordsc> says, &#8216;May it never be!<n id="3" /> For I will honor those who honor me, but those who despise me will be cursed!

You<n id="1" /> should tell him that I am about to judge his house forever because of<n id="2" /> the sin that he knew about. For his sons were cursing God,<n id="3" /> and he did not rebuke them.
