If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.

The one who says &#8220;I have come to know God&#8221;<n id="1" /> and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.

If<n id="1" /> anyone sees his fellow Christian<n id="2" /> committing a sin not resulting in death,<n id="3" /> he should ask, and God<n id="4" /> will grant<n id="5" /> life to the person who commits a sin not resulting in death.<n id="6" /> There is a sin resulting in death.<n id="7" /> I do not say that he should ask about that.

Everyone who hates his fellow Christian<n id="1" /> is a murderer,<n id="2" /> and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing<n id="3" /> in him.

<p class="bodytext">If anyone says<n id="1" /> &#8220;I love God&#8221; and yet<n id="2" /> hates his fellow Christian,<n id="3" /> he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian<n id="4" /> whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.<n id="5" />

On the other hand, I am writing a new commandment to you which is true in him<n id="1" /> and in you, because<n id="2" /> the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning.<n id="1" /> The old commandment is the word that you have already<n id="2" /> heard.

But whoever has the world&#8217;s possessions<n id="1" /> and sees his fellow Christian<n id="2" /> in need and shuts off his compassion against him, how can the love of God<n id="3" /> reside<n id="4" /> in such a person?<n id="5" />p>

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">Now as for you, the anointing<n id="1" /> that you received from him<n id="2" /> resides<n id="3" /> in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But as his<n id="4" /> anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie. Just as<n id="5" /> it<n id="6" /> has taught you, you reside<n id="7" /> in him.p>

All unrighteousness<n id="1" /> is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death.<n id="2" />p>

Who is the liar but the person who denies that Jesus is the Christ<n id="1" />? This one is the antichrist: the person who denies the Father and the Son.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ<n id="1" /> has been fathered<n id="2" /> by God, and everyone who loves the father<n id="3" /> loves the child fathered by him.<n id="4" />

The one who practices sin is of the devil,<n id="1" /> because the devil has been sinning<n id="2" /> from the beginning. For this purpose<n id="3" /> the Son of God was revealed: to destroy<n id="4" /> the works of the devil.

We love<n id="1" /> because he loved us first.p>

The one who says he is in the light but still hates<n id="1" /> his fellow Christian<n id="2" /> is still in the darkness.

The one who loves his fellow Christian<n id="1" /> resides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Everyone who practices sin<n id="1" /> also practices lawlessness;<n id="2" /> indeed,<n id="3" /> sin is lawlessness.

Everyone who has been fathered<n id="1" /> by God does not practice sin,<n id="2" /> because<n id="3" /> God&#8217;s<n id="4" /> seed<n id="5" /> resides in him, and thus<n id="6" /> he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.

<p class="bodytext">We know that everyone fathered<n id="1" /> by God does not sin, but God<n id="2" /> protects<n id="3" /> the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.
