For they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” ¹ 

For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings ¹  into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.

“Whole burnt offerings and sin-offerings you took no delight in.

So it was necessary for the sketches ¹  of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, ²  but the heavenly things themselves required ³  better sacrifices than these.

When he says above, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sin-offerings you did not desire nor did you take delight in them” ¹  (which are offered according to the law),

And he did not enter to offer ¹  himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the sanctuary year after year with blood that is not his own,

So when he came into the world, he said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.
