He told them, “Collect no more ¹  than you are required to.” ² 

He won’t thank the slave because he did what he was told, ¹  will he? ² 

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

So the soldiers, in accordance with their orders, ¹  took ²  Paul and brought him to Antipatris ³  during the night.

He ordered the centurion ¹  to guard Paul, ²  but to let him have some freedom, ³  and not to prevent any of his friends ⁴  from meeting his needs. ⁵ 

In the same way the Lord commanded those who proclaim the gospel to receive their living by the gospel.

When ¹  Jesus had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he went on from there to teach and preach in their towns.

So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say, ‘We are slaves undeserving of special praise; ¹  we have only done what was our duty.’” ² 

Nevertheless, ¹  as the Lord has assigned to each one, as God has called each person, so must he live. I give this sort of direction in all the churches.

If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that when you assemble it does not lead to judgment. I will give directions about other matters when I come.

With regard to the collection for the saints, please follow the directions that I gave to the churches of Galatia: ¹ 

Why then was the law given? ¹  It was added ²  because of transgressions, ³  until the arrival of the descendant ⁴  to whom the promise had been made. It was administered ⁵  through angels by an intermediary. ⁶ 

The reason I left you in Crete was to set in order the remaining matters and to appoint elders in every town, as I directed you.

Our ancestors ¹  had the tabernacle ²  of testimony in the wilderness, ³  just as God ⁴  who spoke to Moses ordered him ⁵  to make it according to the design he had seen.

There he ¹  found ²  a Jew named Aquila, ³  a native of Pontus, ⁴  who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius ⁵  had ordered all the Jews to depart from ⁶  Rome. ⁷  Paul approached ⁸  them,

We went on ahead ¹  to the ship and put out to sea ²  for Assos, ³  intending ⁴  to take Paul aboard there, for he had arranged it this way. ⁵  He ⁶  himself was intending ⁷  to go there by land. ⁸
