and &#8216;<b><i>with their hands they will lift you up, so that you will not strike your foot against a stonei>b>.&#8217;&#8221;<n id="1" />

raised their voices and said, &#8220;Jesus, Master, have mercy<n id="1" /> on us.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">But they all shouted out together,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Take this man<n id="2" /> away! Release Barabbas for us!&#8221;

Give to everyone who asks you,<n id="1" /> and do not ask for your possessions<n id="2" /> back<n id="3" /> from the person who takes them away.

They all ate and were satisfied, and what was left over<n id="1" /> was picked up &#8211; twelve baskets of broken pieces.p>

Immediately<n id="1" /> he stood up before them, picked<n id="2" /> up the stretcher<n id="3" /> he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying<n id="4" /> God.

To the person who strikes you on the cheek,<n id="1" /> offer the other as well,<n id="2" /> and from the person who takes away your coat,<n id="3" /> do not withhold your tunic<n id="4" /> either.<n id="5" />

He<n id="1" /> said to them, &#8220;Take nothing for your<n id="2" /> journey &#8211; no staff,<n id="3" /> no bag,<n id="4" /> no bread, no money, and do not take an extra tunic.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> he said to them all,<n id="2" /> &#8220;If anyone wants to become my follower,<n id="3" /> he must deny<n id="4" /> himself, take up his cross daily,<n id="5" /> and follow me.

But<n id="1" /> when a stronger man<n id="2" /> attacks<n id="3" /> and conquers him, he takes away the first man&#8217;s<n id="4" /> armor on which the man relied<n id="5" /> and divides up<n id="6" /> his plunder.<n id="7" />

Woe to you experts in religious law! You have taken away<n id="1" /> the key to knowledge! You did not go in yourselves, and you hindered<n id="2" /> those who were going in.&#8221;p>

For I was afraid of you, because you are a severe<n id="1" /> man. You withdraw<n id="2" /> what you did not deposit<n id="3" /> and reap what you did not sow.&#8217;

And he said to his attendants,<n id="1" /> &#8216;Take the mina from him, and give it to the one who has ten.&#8217;<n id="2" />

&#8216;I tell you that everyone who has will be given more,<n id="1" /> but from the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.<n id="2" />

Those along the path are the ones who have heard; then the devil<n id="1" /> comes and takes away the word<n id="2" /> from their hearts, so that they may not believe<n id="3" /> and be saved.

So listen carefully,<n id="1" /> for whoever has will be given more, but<n id="2" /> whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has<n id="3" /> will be taken from him.&#8221;p>

On that day, anyone who is on the roof,<n id="1" /> with his goods in the house, must not come down<n id="2" /> to take them away, and likewise the person in the field must not turn back.

The king<n id="1" /> said to him, &#8216;I will judge you by your own words,<n id="2" /> you wicked slave!<n id="3" /> So you knew, did you, that I was a severe<n id="4" /> man, withdrawing what I didn&#8217;t deposit and reaping what I didn&#8217;t sow?

He said to them, &#8220;But now, the one who<n id="1" /> has a money bag must take it, and likewise a traveler&#8217;s bag<n id="2" /> too. And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one.

But so that you may know<n id="1" /> that the Son of Man<n id="2" /> has authority on earth to forgive sins&#8221; &#8211; he said to the paralyzed man<n id="3" /> &#8211; &#8220;I tell you, stand up, take your stretcher<n id="4" /> and go home.&#8221;<n id="5" />
