You<n id="1" /> once were <b><i>not a peoplei>b>, but now you are God&#8217;s people. You were <b><i>shown no mercy,i>b><n id="2" /> but now you have received mercy.p>

<p class="poetry">&#8220;Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.p>

Should you not have shown mercy to your fellow slave, just as I showed it to you?&#8217;

For he says to Moses: &#8220;<i><b>I will have mercy on whom I have mercyb>, <b>and I will have compassion on whom I have compassionb>i>.&#8221;<n id="1" />

raised their voices and said, &#8220;Jesus, Master, have mercy<n id="1" /> on us.&#8221;

So<n id="1" /> he called out,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Jesus, Son of David,<n id="3" /> have mercy<n id="4" /> on me!&#8221;

So then,<n id="1" /> it does not depend on human desire or exertion,<n id="2" /> but on God who shows mercy.

So then,<n id="1" /> God<n id="2" /> has mercy on whom he chooses to have mercy, and he hardens whom he chooses to harden.<n id="3" />p>

Just as you were formerly disobedient to God, but have now received mercy due to their disobedience,

so they too have now been disobedient in order that, by the mercy shown to you, they too may now<n id="1" /> receive mercy.

For God has consigned all people to disobedience so that he may show mercy to them all.<n id="1" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy,<n id="1" /> we do not become discouraged.<n id="2" />

And have mercy on those who waver;

save<n id="1" /> others by snatching them out of the fire; have mercy<n id="2" /> on others, coupled with a fear of God,<n id="3" /> hating even the clothes stained<n id="4" /> by the flesh.<n id="5" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, shouting,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Have mercy<n id="2" /> on us, Son of David!&#8221;<n id="3" />

Many scolded<n id="1" /> him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, &#8220;Son of David, have mercy on me!&#8221;

even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant<n id="1" /> man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,

and said, &#8220;Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures<n id="1" /> and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.

Two<n id="1" /> blind men were sitting by the road. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they shouted,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Have mercy<n id="3" /> on us, Lord, Son of David!&#8221;<n id="4" />

The<n id="1" /> crowd scolded<n id="2" /> them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, &#8220;Lord, have mercy on us,<n id="3" /> Son of David!&#8221;
