Do you not have houses so that you can eat and drink? Or are you trying to show contempt for the church of God by shaming those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I will not praise you for this!

And again, “Praise the Lord all you Gentiles, and let all the peoples praise him.” ¹ 

I praise you ¹  because you remember me in everything and maintain the traditions just as I passed them on to you.

Now in giving the following instruction I do not praise you, because you come together not for the better but for the worse.

The ¹  master commended the dishonest ²  manager because he acted shrewdly. ³  For the people ⁴  of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries ⁵  than the people ⁶  of light.
