and my spirit has begun to rejoice ¹  in God my Savior,

This brings you great joy, ¹  although you may have to suffer ²  for a short time in various trials.

Your father Abraham was overjoyed ¹  to see my day, and he saw it and was glad.” ² 

The jailer ¹  brought them into his house and set food ²  before them, and he rejoiced greatly ³  that he had come to believe ⁴  in God, together with his entire household. ⁵ 

Rejoice and be glad because your reward is great in heaven, for they persecuted the prophets before you in the same way.

He was a lamp that was burning and shining, ¹  and you wanted to rejoice greatly for a short time ²  in his light.

Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; my body ¹  also will live in hope,

You ¹  have not seen him, but you love him. You ²  do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice ³  with an indescribable and glorious ⁴  joy,

But rejoice in the degree that you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed ¹  you may also rejoice and be glad. ² 

Let us rejoice ¹  and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

On that same occasion ¹  Jesus ²  rejoiced ³  in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise ⁴  you, Father, Lord ⁵  of heaven and earth, because ⁶  you have hidden these things from the wise ⁷  and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will. ⁸
