Now godliness combined with contentment brings great profit.

But reject those myths<n id="1" /> fit only for the godless and gullible,<n id="2" /> and train yourself for godliness.

They will maintain the outward appearance<n id="1" /> of religion but will have repudiated its power. So avoid people like these.<n id="2" />

to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish<n id="1" /> love.<n id="2" />

and constant bickering by people corrupted in their minds and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness<n id="1" /> is a way of making a profit.

<p class="bodytext">But you, as a person dedicated to God,<n id="1" /> keep away from all that.<n id="2" /> Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.
