<t /><p class="bodytext">But I will come to you after I have gone through Macedonia &#8211; for I will be going through Macedonia &#8211;

and through your help to go on into Macedonia and then from Macedonia to come back<n id="1" /> to you and be helped on our way into Judea by you.

For Macedonia and Achaia are pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now we make known to you, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> the grace of God given to the churches of Macedonia,

As a result you became an example<n id="1" /> to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

<t /><p class="bodytext">As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus<n id="1" /> to instruct<n id="2" /> certain people not to spread false teachings,<n id="3" />

After Paul<n id="1" /> saw the vision, we attempted<n id="2" /> immediately to go over to Macedonia,<n id="3" /> concluding that God had called<n id="4" /> us to proclaim the good news to them.p>

and from there to Philippi,<n id="1" /> which is a leading city of that district<n id="2" /> of Macedonia,<n id="3" /> a Roman colony.<n id="4" /> We stayed in this city for some days.

So after sending<n id="1" /> two of his assistants,<n id="2" /> Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia,<n id="3" /> he himself stayed on for a while in the province of Asia.<n id="4" />p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">After the disturbance had ended, Paul sent for the disciples, and after encouraging<n id="1" /> them and saying farewell,<n id="2" /> he left to go to Macedonia.<n id="3" />

where he stayed<n id="1" /> for three months. Because the Jews had made<n id="2" /> a plot<n id="3" /> against him as he was intending<n id="4" /> to sail<n id="5" /> for Syria, he decided<n id="6" /> to return through Macedonia.<n id="7" />

I had no relief in my spirit,<n id="1" /> because I did not find my brother Titus there. So I said good-bye to them<n id="2" /> and set out<n id="3" /> for Macedonia.p>

For even when we came into Macedonia, our body<n id="1" /> had no rest at all, but we were troubled in every way &#8211; struggles from the outside, fears from within.

And indeed you are practicing it toward all the brothers and sisters<n id="1" /> in all of Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more,<n id="2" />

A<n id="1" /> vision appeared to Paul during the night: A Macedonian man was standing there<n id="2" /> urging him,<n id="3" /> &#8220;Come over<n id="4" /> to Macedonia<n id="5" /> and help us!&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Now when Silas and Timothy arrived<n id="1" /> from Macedonia,<n id="2" /> Paul became wholly absorbed with proclaiming<n id="3" /> the word, testifying<n id="4" /> to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now after all these things had taken place,<n id="1" /> Paul resolved<n id="2" /> to go to Jerusalem,<n id="3" /> passing through Macedonia<n id="4" /> and Achaia.<n id="5" /> He said,<n id="6" /> &#8220;After I have been there, I must also see Rome.&#8221;<n id="7" />

When<n id="1" /> I was with you and was in need, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia fully supplied my needs.<n id="2" /> I<n id="3" /> kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.

<p class="bodytext">And as you Philippians know, at the beginning of my gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in this matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

For from you the message of the Lord<n id="1" /> has echoed forth not just in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place reports of your faith in God have spread,<n id="2" /> so that we do not need to say anything.
