that each of you know how to possess his own body ¹  in holiness and honor,

For God did not call us to impurity but in holiness.

For this is God’s will: that you become holy, ¹  that you keep away from sexual immorality,

But she will be delivered through childbearing, ¹  if she ²  continues in faith and love and holiness with self-control.

Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness, ¹  for without it no one will see the Lord.

But now, freed ¹  from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit ²  leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, ¹  who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling ¹  with Jesus Christ’s blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure! ² 

(I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) ¹  For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.

But we ought to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters ¹  loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning ²  for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
