When<n id="1" /> they saw him,<n id="2" /> they related what they had been told<n id="3" /> about this child,

But when John rebuked Herod<n id="1" /> the tetrarch<n id="2" /> because of Herodias, his brother&#8217;s wife,<n id="3" /> and because of all the evil deeds<n id="4" /> that he had done,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> many have undertaken to compile an account<n id="2" /> of the things<n id="3" /> that have been fulfilled<n id="4" /> among us,

so that you may know for certain<n id="1" /> the things you were taught.<n id="2" />p>

and all who heard it were astonished<n id="1" /> at what the shepherds said.

for it is written, &#8216;<b><i>He will command his angels concerning you, to protect youi>b>,&#8217;<n id="1" />

So<n id="1" /> the news<n id="2" /> about him spread into all areas of the region.<n id="3" />p>

bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat<n id="1" /> you.

<t /><p class="bodytext">John&#8217;s<n id="1" /> disciples informed him about all these things. So<n id="2" /> John called<n id="3" /> two of his disciples

So if<n id="1" /> you cannot do such a very little thing as this, why do you worry about<n id="2" /> the rest?

They<n id="1" /> were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.

<p class="bodytext">So<n id="1" /> the child&#8217;s<n id="2" /> father<n id="3" /> and mother were amazed<n id="4" /> at what was said about him.

This<n id="1" /> report<n id="2" /> about Jesus<n id="3" /> circulated<n id="4" /> throughout<n id="5" /> Judea and all the surrounding country.p>

But the Lord<n id="1" /> answered her,<n id="2" /> &#8220;Martha, Martha,<n id="3" /> you are worried and troubled<n id="4" /> about many things,

<p class="bodytext">When he went out from there, the experts in the law<n id="1" /> and the Pharisees began to oppose him bitterly,<n id="2" /> and to ask him hostile questions<n id="3" /> about many things,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned<n id="2" /> with beautiful stones and offerings,<n id="3" /> Jesus<n id="4" /> said,

When<n id="1" /> those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, &#8220;Lord, should<n id="2" /> we use our swords?&#8221;<n id="3" />

Then<n id="1" /> beginning with Moses and all the prophets,<n id="2" /> he interpreted to them the things written about<n id="3" /> himself in all the scriptures.p>

At that moment,<n id="1" /> she came up to them<n id="2" /> and began to give thanks to God and to speak<n id="3" /> about the child<n id="4" /> to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.<n id="5" />p>

<p class="bodytext">While the people were filled with anticipation<n id="1" /> and they all wondered<n id="2" /> whether perhaps John<n id="3" /> could be the Christ,<n id="4" />
