and those who suffered from<n id="1" /> unclean<n id="2" /> spirits were cured.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River<n id="2" /> and was led by the Spirit<n id="3" /> in<n id="4" /> the wilderness,<n id="5" />

<p class="poetry">and my spirit has begun to rejoice<n id="1" /> in God my Savior,p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied,<n id="2" />p>

But they were startled and terrified, thinking<n id="1" /> they saw a ghost.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> in the synagogue<n id="2" /> there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean<n id="3" /> demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,

Her<n id="1" /> spirit returned,<n id="2" /> and she got up immediately. Then<n id="3" /> he told them to give her something to eat.

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that moment<n id="1" /> what you must say.&#8221;<n id="2" />p>

for he will be great in the sight of<n id="1" /> the Lord. He<n id="2" /> must never drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even before his birth.<n id="3" />

And he will go as forerunner before the Lord<n id="1" /> in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just,<n id="2" /> to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him.&#8221;p>

<p class="bodytext">And the child kept growing<n id="1" /> and becoming strong<n id="2" /> in spirit, and he was in the wilderness<n id="3" /> until the day he was revealed<n id="4" /> to Israel.p>

It<n id="1" /> had been revealed<n id="2" /> to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die<n id="3" /> before<n id="4" /> he had seen the Lord&#8217;s Christ.<n id="5" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then<n id="1" /> Jesus, in the power of the Spirit,<n id="2" /> returned to Galilee, and news about him spread<n id="3" /> throughout the surrounding countryside.<n id="4" />

<p class="otpoetry">&#8220;<b><i>The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>because he has anointedi>b><n id="1" /> <b><i>me to proclaim good newsi>b><n id="2" /> <i><b>to the poorb>.i><n id="3" />p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>He has sent mei>b><n id="4" /> <b><i>to proclaim releasei>b><n id="5" /> <b><i>to the captivesi>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>and the regaining of sighti>b><n id="6" /> <b><i>to the blind,i>b>p> <p class="otpoetry"><b><i>to set freei>b><n id="7" /> <b><i>those who are oppressed,i>b><n id="8" />p>

At that very time<n id="1" /> Jesus<n id="2" /> cured many people of diseases, sicknesses,<n id="3" /> and evil spirits, and granted<n id="4" /> sight to many who were blind.

and also some women<n id="1" /> who had been healed of evil spirits and disabilities:<n id="2" /> Mary<n id="3" /> (called Magdalene), from whom seven demons had gone out,

A<n id="1" /> spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams;<n id="2" /> it throws him into convulsions<n id="3" /> and causes him to foam at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him alone, torturing<n id="4" /> him severely.

Nevertheless, do not rejoice that<n id="1" /> the spirits submit to you, but rejoice<n id="2" /> that your names stand written<n id="3" /> in heaven.&#8221;p>

And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the person who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit<n id="1" /> will not be forgiven.<n id="2" />

and a woman was there<n id="1" /> who had been disabled by a spirit<n id="2" /> for eighteen years. She<n id="3" /> was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely.<n id="4" />
