By now a strong wind was blowing and the sea was getting rough.

And when you see the south wind ¹  blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and there is.

The rain fell, the flood ¹  came, and the winds beat against that house, but it did not collapse because it had been founded on rock.

The wind ¹  blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” ² 

So they slipped ¹  the anchors ²  and left them in the sea, at the same time loosening the linkage ³  that bound the steering oars ⁴  together. Then they hoisted ⁵  the foresail ⁶  to the wind and steered toward ⁷  the beach.

After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so no wind could blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.
