For this finds God’s favor, ¹  if because of conscience toward God ²  someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

Now it was for this very purpose ¹  that the gospel was preached to those who are now dead, ²  so that though ³  they were judged in the flesh ⁴  by human standards ⁵  they may live spiritually ⁶  by God’s standards. ⁷ 

but the word of the Lord ¹  endures forever. ²  And this is the word that was proclaimed to you.

For what credit is it if you sin and are mistreated and endure it? But if you do good and suffer and so endure, this finds favor with God. ¹ 

For to this you were called, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving an example for you to follow in his steps.

Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but instead bless ¹  others ²  because you were called to inherit a blessing.
