When<n id="1" /> the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, &#8220;Why this waste?

But we are not among those who shrink back and thus perish, but are among those who have faith and preserve their souls.<n id="1" />p>

But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects<n id="1" /> of wrath<n id="2" /> prepared for destruction?<n id="3" />

and by not being intimidated in any way by your opponents. This is<n id="1" /> a sign of their<n id="2" /> destruction, but of your salvation &#8211; a sign which<n id="3" /> is from God.

Their end is destruction, their god is the belly, they exult in their shame, and they think about earthly things.<n id="1" />

Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

And in their greed they will exploit you with deceptive words. Their<n id="1" /> condemnation pronounced long ago<n id="2" /> is not sitting idly by;<n id="3" /> their<n id="4" /> destruction is not asleep.p>

But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.<n id="1" />p>

The<n id="1" /> beast that was, and is not, is himself an eighth king and yet is one of the seven, and is going to destruction.

When I was with them I kept them safe<n id="1" /> and watched over them<n id="2" /> in your name<n id="3" /> that you have given me. Not one<n id="4" /> of them was lost except the one destined for destruction,<n id="5" /> so that the scripture could be fulfilled.<n id="6" />

speaking of these things in all his letters.<n id="1" /> Some things in these letters<n id="2" /> are hard to understand, things<n id="3" /> the ignorant and unstable twist<n id="4" /> to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures.<n id="5" />

The beast you saw was, and is not, but is about to come up from the abyss<n id="1" /> and then go to destruction. The<n id="2" /> inhabitants of the earth &#8211; all those whose names have not been written in the book of life since the foundation of the world &#8211; will be astounded when they see that<n id="3" /> the beast was, and is not, but is to come.
