As you enter the house, give it greetings. ¹ 

Because Joseph, her husband to be, ¹  was a righteous man, and because he did not want to disgrace her, he intended to divorce her ²  privately.

But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Whoever finds his life ¹  will lose it, ²  and whoever loses his life because of me ³  will find it.

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

because John had repeatedly told ¹  him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” ² 

but did not have marital relations ¹  with her until she gave birth to a son, whom he named ²  Jesus.

He touched her hand, and the fever left her. Then ¹  she got up and began to serve them.

In the resurrection, therefore, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had married her.” ¹ 

But the gate is narrow and the way is difficult that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

From ¹  the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and forceful people lay hold of it. ² 

But he did not answer her a word. Then ¹  his disciples came and begged him, ²  “Send her away, because she keeps on crying out after us.”

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is better to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into hell.

But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

As he was saying these things, a ruler came, bowed low before him, and said, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her and she will live.”

But when Jesus turned and saw her he said, “Have courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well.” ¹  And the woman was healed ²  from that hour.

And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. ¹ 

The people ¹  of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented when Jonah preached to them ²  – and now, ³  something greater than Jonah is here!

The queen of the South ¹  will rise up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon – and now, ²  something greater than Solomon is here!

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, ¹  you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! ²  How often I have longed ³  to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but ⁴  you would have none of it! ⁵
