You put all things under his control.” ¹  For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control, ² 

And by being perfected in this way, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

For he was still in his ancestor Abraham’s loins ¹  when Melchizedek met him.

But when he again brings ¹  his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him!” ² 

Again he says, ¹  “I will be confident in him,” and again, “Here I am, ²  with ³  the children God has given me.” ⁴ 

Thus we must make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by following the same pattern of disobedience.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, I ¹  take no pleasure in him. ² 

For to which of the angels did God ¹  ever say, “You are my son! Today I have fathered you”? ²  And in another place ³  he says, ⁴  “I will be his father and he will be my son.” ⁵ 

For it was fitting for him, for whom and through whom all things exist, ¹  in bringing many sons to glory, to make the pioneer ²  of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. ¹
