For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift ¹  to strengthen you,

Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another ¹  as good stewards of the varied grace of God.

And the gift is not like the one who sinned. ¹  For judgment, resulting from the one transgression, ²  led to condemnation, but ³  the gracious gift from the many failures ⁴  led to justification.

For the payoff ¹  of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I wish that everyone was as I am. But each has his own gift from God, one this way, another that.

as you also join in helping us by prayer, so that many people may give thanks to God ¹  on our behalf for the gracious gift given to us through the help of many.

Because of this I remind you to rekindle God’s gift that you possess ¹  through the laying on of my hands.

But the gracious gift is not like the transgression. ¹  For if the many died through the transgression of the one man, ²  how much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man Jesus Christ multiply to the many!
