They are darkened in their understanding,<n id="1" /> being alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts.

in whom we have boldness and confident access<n id="1" /> to God<n id="2" /> because of<n id="3" /> Christ&#8217;s<n id="4" /> faithfulness.<n id="5" />

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.p>

For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise<n id="1" /> by understanding<n id="2" /> what the Lord&#8217;s will is.

He did this by predestining<n id="1" /> us to adoption as his<n id="2" /> sons<n id="3" /> through Jesus Christ, according to the pleasure<n id="4" /> of his will &#8211;

<p class="bodytext">But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

For by grace you are saved<n id="1" /> through faith,<n id="2" /> and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;

and to reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which the hostility has been killed.<n id="1" />

namely, that through the gospel<n id="1" /> the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members<n id="2" /> of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.

The purpose of this enlightenment is that<n id="1" /> through the church the multifaceted wisdom<n id="2" /> of God should now be disclosed to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenly realms.

I pray that<n id="1" /> according to the wealth of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inner person,

<t /><p class="bodytext">Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things God&#8217;s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.<n id="1" />

For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground<n id="1" /> on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

With every prayer and petition, pray<n id="1" /> at all times in the Spirit, and to this end<n id="2" /> be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

From him the whole body grows, fitted and held together<n id="1" /> through every supporting ligament.<n id="2" /> As each one does its part, the body grows in love.p>
