And our hope for you is steadfast because we know that as you share in ¹  our sufferings, so also you will share in ²  our comfort.

We do so ¹  because we know that the one who raised up Jesus ²  will also raise us up with Jesus and will bring us with you into his presence.

Therefore we are always full of courage, and we know that as long as we are alive here on earth ¹  we are absent from the Lord –

Therefore, because we know the fear of the Lord, ¹  we try to persuade ²  people, ³  but we are well known ⁴  to God, and I hope we are well known to your consciences too.
