The officers replied, “No one ever spoke like this man!”

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples,

<p class="poetry">as he spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago,<n id="1" />p>

Yet<n id="1" /> his parents<n id="2" /> did not understand<n id="3" /> the remark<n id="4" /> he made<n id="5" /> to them.

<p class="bodyblock">Isaiah said these things because he saw Christ&#8217;s<n id="1" /> glory, and spoke about him.p>

He<n id="1" /> told them many things in parables,<n id="2" /> saying: &#8220;Listen!<n id="3" /> A sower went out to sow.<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; he did not speak to them without a parable.

But immediately Jesus<n id="1" /> spoke to them:<n id="2" /> &#8220;Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.&#8221;

<p class="poetry">as he promised<n id="1" /> to our ancestors,<n id="2" /> to Abraham and to his descendants<n id="3" /> forever.&#8221;p>

He is not here, but has been raised!<n id="1" /> Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee,<n id="2" />

For it is clear that our Lord is descended from Judah, yet Moses said nothing about priests in connection with that tribe.

After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, &#8220;Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!&#8221;

Then Jesus came up and said to them,<n id="1" /> &#8220;All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them:<n id="1" /> &#8220;Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> he was casting out a demon that was mute.<n id="2" /> When<n id="3" /> the demon had gone out, the man who had been mute began to speak,<n id="4" /> and the crowds were amazed.

(Jesus<n id="1" /> spoke these words near the offering box<n id="2" /> while he was teaching in the temple courts.<n id="3" /> No one seized him because his time<n id="4" /> had not yet come.)<n id="5" />p>

While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become sons of light.&#8221;<n id="1" /> When Jesus had said these things, he went away and hid himself from them.p>

David by foreseeing this<n id="1" /> spoke about the resurrection of the Christ,<n id="2" /> that <i>he was neither abandoned to Hadesi>,<n id="3" /> nor did his body<n id="4" /> <i>experiencei><n id="5" /> <i>decayi>.<n id="6" />

This one<n id="1" /> heaven must<n id="2" /> receive until the time all things are restored,<n id="3" /> which God declared<n id="4" /> from times long ago<n id="5" /> through his holy prophets.

But God spoke as follows: &#8216;Your<n id="1" /> <b><i>descendants will be foreignersi>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>in a foreign country, whose citizens will enslave them and mistreat them for four hundred yearsi>b>.<n id="3" />
