“Are you the one who is to come, ¹  or should we look for another?”

For I tell you, you will not see me from now until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!’” ¹ 

“I baptize you with water, for repentance, but the one coming after me is more powerful than I am – I am not worthy ¹  to carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. ² 

The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting, ¹  “Hosanna ²  to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ³  Hosanna in the highest!”
