I am praying ¹  on behalf of them. I am not praying ²  on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those you have given me, because they belong to you. ³ 

So ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘Then I beg you, father – send Lazarus ³  to my father’s house

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe ¹  from the evil one. ² 

“I am not praying ¹  only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe ²  in me through their testimony, ³ 

Another ¹  said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, ²  and I am going out ³  to examine them. Please excuse me.’

But now ¹  I ask you, lady (not as if I were ²  writing a new commandment ³  to you, but the one ⁴  we have had from the beginning), ⁵  that ⁶  we love one another.

But one after another they all ¹  began to make excuses. ²  The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, ³  and I must go out and see it. Please excuse me.’ ⁴ 

Yes, I say also to you, true companion, ¹  help them. They have struggled together in the gospel ministry ²  along with me and Clement and my other coworkers, whose names are in the book of life.
