<t /><p class="bodytext">After the two days he departed from there to Galilee.

Then<n id="1" /> they attempted<n id="2" /> again to seize him, but he escaped their clutches.<n id="3" />p>

Judas<n id="1" /> took the piece of bread and went out immediately. (Now it was night.)<n id="2" />p>

Then Peter and the other disciple set out to go to the tomb.<n id="1" />

Then they picked up<n id="1" /> stones to throw at him,<n id="2" /> but Jesus hid himself and went out from the temple area.<n id="3" />p>

<p class="bodytext">Then Jesus, because he knew everything that was going to happen to him,<n id="1" /> came and asked them, &#8220;Who are you looking for?&#8221;<n id="2" />

So Pilate came outside to them and said, &#8220;What accusation<n id="1" /> do you bring against this man?&#8221;<n id="2" />

and carrying his own cross<n id="1" /> he went out to the place called &#8220;The Place of the Skull&#8221;<n id="2" /> (called in Aramaic<n id="3" /> <i>Golgothai>).<n id="4" />

But one of the soldiers pierced<n id="1" /> his side with a spear, and blood and water<n id="2" /> flowed out immediately.

Because Jesus<n id="1" /> knew that the Father had handed all things over to him,<n id="2" /> and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

<t /><p class="bodytext">When<n id="1" /> Judas<n id="2" /> had gone out, Jesus said, &#8220;Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.

<p class="bodytext">Again Pilate went out and said to the Jewish leaders,<n id="1" /> &#8220;Look, I am bringing him out to you, so that you may know that I find no reason for an accusation<n id="2" /> against him.&#8221;

So Jesus came outside, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe.<n id="1" /> Pilate<n id="2" /> said to them, &#8220;Look, here is the man!&#8221;<n id="3" />

Then the people<n id="1" /> who were with Mary<n id="2" /> in the house consoling her saw her<n id="3" /> get up quickly and go out. They followed her, because they thought she was going to the tomb to weep<n id="4" /> there.p>

The one who had died came out, his feet and hands tied up with strips of cloth,<n id="1" /> and a cloth wrapped around his face.<n id="2" /> Jesus said to them, &#8220;Unwrap him<n id="3" /> and let him go.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">When he had said these things,<n id="1" /> Jesus went out with his disciples across the Kidron Valley.<n id="2" /> There was an orchard<n id="3" /> there, and he and his disciples went into it.

But Simon Peter was left standing outside by the door. So the other disciple who was acquainted with the high priest came out and spoke to the slave girl who watched the door,<n id="1" /> and brought Peter inside.

Pilate asked,<n id="1" /> &#8220;What is truth?&#8221;<n id="2" />p> <p class="bodytext">When he had said this he went back outside to the Jewish leaders<n id="3" /> and announced,<n id="4" /> &#8220;I find no basis for an accusation<n id="5" /> against him.

So the saying circulated<n id="1" /> among the brothers and sisters<n id="2" /> that this disciple was not going to die. But Jesus did not say to him that he was not going to die, but rather, &#8220;If I want him to live<n id="3" /> until I come back,<n id="4" /> what concern is that of yours?&#8221;p>
