Be angry and do not sin; ¹  do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger. ² 

When the sun came up it was scorched, and because it did not have sufficient root, ¹  it withered.

They will never go hungry or be thirsty again, and the sun will not beat down on them, nor any burning heat, ¹ 

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. ¹  The one who has ears had better listen! ² 

And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

When it was evening, after sunset, they brought to him all who were sick and demon-possessed.

“But in those days, after that suffering, ¹  the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light;

The sun will be changed to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious ¹  day of the Lord comes.

“Immediately ¹  after the suffering ²  of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. ³ 

For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. ¹  So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.

He held ¹  seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double-edged sword extended out of his mouth. His ²  face shone like the sun shining at full strength.

Then ¹  I looked when the Lamb opened the sixth seal, and a huge ²  earthquake took place; the sun became as black as sackcloth made of hair, ³  and the full moon became blood red; ⁴ 

He ¹  opened the shaft of the abyss and smoke rose out of it ²  like smoke from a giant furnace. The ³  sun and the air were darkened with smoke from the shaft.

Then ¹  I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven, wrapped ²  in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun and his legs were like pillars of fire. ³
