<p class="bodytext">From that time Jesus began to preach this message:<n id="1" /> &#8220;Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.&#8221;p>

<t /><p class="bodytext">Then Jesus began to criticize openly the cities<n id="1" /> in which he had done many of his miracles, because they did not repent.

He took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and became anguished and distressed.

At that he began to curse, and he swore with an oath, &#8220;I do not know the man!&#8221; At that moment a rooster crowed.<n id="1" />

<p class="bodytext">While they were going away, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: &#8220;What did you go out into the wilderness<n id="1" /> to see? A reed shaken by the wind?<n id="2" />

So Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him:<n id="1" /> &#8220;God forbid,<n id="2" /> Lord! This must not happen to you!&#8221;

<t /><p class="bodytext">From that time on<n id="1" /> Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem<n id="2" /> and suffer<n id="3" /> many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests, and experts in the law,<n id="4" /> and be killed, and on the third day be raised.
