As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

I ¹  am no longer in the world, but ²  they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them safe ³  in your name ⁴  that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are one. ⁵ 

He was in the world, and the world was created ¹  by him, but ²  the world did not recognize ³  him.

For the bread of God is the one who ¹  comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

For no one who seeks to make a reputation for himself ¹  does anything in secret. ²  If you are doing these things, show yourself to the world.”

“Lord,” Judas (not Judas Iscariot) ¹  said, ²  “what has happened that you are going to reveal ³  yourself to us and not to the world?”

I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, ¹  but take courage ²  – I have conquered the world.” ³ 

But now I am coming to you, and I am saying these things in the world, so they may experience ¹  my joy completed ²  in themselves.

The one who loves his life ¹  destroys ²  it, and the one who hates his life in this world guards ³  it for eternal life.

Jesus replied, ¹  “I have spoken publicly to the world. I always taught in the synagogues ²  and in the temple courts, ³  where all the Jewish people ⁴  assemble together. I ⁵  have said nothing in secret.

Just before the Passover feast, Jesus knew that his time ¹  had come to depart ²  from this world to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now loved them to the very end. ³
