For it is sanctified by God’s word and by prayer.p>

like the accounts<n id="1" /> passed on<n id="2" /> to us by those who were eyewitnesses and servants of the word<n id="3" /> from the beginning.<n id="4" />

But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.&#8221;

<p class="bodytext">Both the apostles and the elders met together to deliberate<n id="1" /> about this matter.

Therefore we are sending<n id="1" /> Judas and Silas<n id="2" /> who will tell you these things themselves in person.<n id="3" />

For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant.

But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourselves.

You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.

<t /><p class="bodytext">&#8220;I am not praying<n id="1" /> only on their behalf, but also on behalf of those who believe<n id="2" /> in me through their testimony,<n id="3" />

They began to call<n id="1" /> Barnabas Zeus<n id="2" /> and Paul Hermes,<n id="3" /> because he was the chief speaker.

Both Judas and Silas, who were prophets themselves, encouraged and strengthened the brothers with a long speech.<n id="1" />

Therefore, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> stand firm and hold on to the traditions that we taught you, whether by speech or by letter.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">Now I urge you, brothers and sisters,<n id="1" /> bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.

but since it concerns points of disagreement<n id="1" /> about words and names and your own law, settle<n id="2" /> it yourselves. I will not be<n id="3" /> a judge of these things!&#8221;

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel &#8211; and not with clever speech, so that the cross of Christ would not become useless.<n id="1" />p>

<p class="bodytext">When I came<n id="1" /> to you, brothers and sisters,<n id="2" /> I did not come with superior eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed the testimony<n id="3" /> of God.

At the same time pray<n id="1" /> for us too, that<n id="2" /> God may open a door for the message<n id="3" /> so that we may proclaim<n id="4" /> the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.<n id="5" />

He must hold firmly to the faithful message as it has been taught,<n id="1" /> so that he will be able to give exhortation in such healthy teaching<n id="2" /> and correct those who speak against it.p>

For if someone merely listens to the message and does not live it out, he is like someone<n id="1" /> who gazes at his own face<n id="2" /> in a mirror.

<t /><p class="bodytext">In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands. Then,<n id="1" /> even if some are disobedient to the word, they will be won over without a word by the way you live,<n id="2" />
