who has become a priest not by a legal regulation about physical descent ¹  but by the power of an indestructible life.

Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death ¹  without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ² 

Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer ¹  the gifts prescribed by the law.
