And with this confidence I intended to come to you first so that you would get a second opportunity to see us,<n id="1" />

So<n id="1" /> I made up my own mind<n id="2" /> not to pay you another painful visit.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">Now we have such confidence in God through Christ.

but when one<n id="1" /> turns to the Lord, <i>the veil is removedi>.<n id="2" />

<p class="bodytext">We have spoken freely to you,<n id="1" /> Corinthians; our heart has been opened wide to you.

And what agreement does Christ have with Beliar?<n id="1" /> Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever?

because he not only accepted our request, but since he was very eager,<n id="1" /> he is coming<n id="2" /> to you of his own accord.<n id="3" />

I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so that I could serve you!<n id="1" />

I have not taken advantage of you through anyone I have sent to you, have I?<n id="1" />

and through your help to go on into Macedonia and then from Macedonia to come back<n id="1" /> to you and be helped on our way into Judea by you.

But as God is faithful, our message to you is not &#8220;Yes&#8221; and &#8220;No.&#8221;

For every one of God&#8217;s promises are &#8220;Yes&#8221; in him; therefore also through him the &#8220;Amen&#8221; is spoken, to the glory we give to God.

to the latter an odor<n id="1" /> from death to death, but to the former a fragrance from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?<n id="2" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? We don&#8217;t need letters of recommendation to you or from you as some other people do, do we?<n id="1" />

Thus we are full of courage and would prefer to be away<n id="1" /> from the body and at home with the Lord.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Do not become partners<n id="1" /> with those who do not believe, for what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness?

for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons,<n id="1" /> but are made powerful by God<n id="2" /> for tearing down strongholds.<n id="3" /> We tear down arguments<n id="4" />

<t /><p class="bodytext">This is the third time I am coming to visit<n id="1" /> you. <b><i>By the testimonyi>b><n id="2" /> <b><i>of two or three witnesses every matter will be establishedi>b>.<n id="3" />

and not like Moses who used to put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites<n id="1" /> from staring<n id="2" /> at the result<n id="3" /> of the glory that was made ineffective.<n id="4" />

We are not trying to commend<n id="1" /> ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to be proud of us,<n id="2" /> so that you may be able to answer those who take pride<n id="3" /> in outward appearance<n id="4" /> and not in what is in the heart.
