<p class="bodytext">Dear friends, if God so loved us, then<n id="1" /> we also ought to love one another.<n id="2" />

The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.<n id="1" />

And we have come to know and to believe<n id="1" /> the love that God has in us.<n id="2" /> God is love, and the one who resides<n id="3" /> in love resides in God, and God resides in him.

that<n id="1" /> if our conscience condemns<n id="2" /> us, that<n id="3" /> God is greater than our conscience and knows all things.

No one has seen God at any time.<n id="1" /> If we love one another, God resides<n id="2" /> in us, and his love is perfected in us.<n id="3" />

<p class="bodytext">If anyone<n id="1" /> confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides<n id="2" /> in him and he in God.

And this is the testimony: God<n id="1" /> has given us eternal life,<n id="2" /> and this life is in his Son.

<t /><p class="bodytext">Now<n id="1" /> this is the gospel<n id="2" /> message<n id="3" /> we have heard from him<n id="4" /> and announce to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all.<n id="5" />

By this<n id="1" /> the love of God<n id="2" /> is revealed in us:<n id="3" /> that God has sent his one and only<n id="4" /> Son into the world so that we may live through him.

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.)<n id="1" />

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us insight to know<n id="1" /> him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one<n id="2" /> is the true God and eternal life.
