So do what ¹  we tell you: We have four men ²  who have taken ³  a vow; ⁴ 

Since we have heard that some have gone out from among us with no orders from us and have confused ¹  you, upsetting ²  your minds ³  by what they said, ⁴ 

But I have nothing definite ¹  to write to my lord ²  about him. ³  Therefore I have brought him before you all, and especially before you, King Agrippa, ⁴  so that after this preliminary hearing ⁵  I may have something to write.

I have certainly seen the suffering ¹  of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to rescue them. ²  Now ³  come, I will send you to Egypt.’ ⁴ 

for it is impossible ¹  for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”

who ¹  have risked their lives ²  for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ³ 

Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God ¹  that it will be just as I have been told.

They replied, ¹  “We have received no letters from Judea about you, nor have any of the brothers come from there ²  and reported or said anything bad about you.

I have desired ¹  no one’s silver or gold or clothing.

As day was about to dawn, ¹  Paul urged them all to take some food, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day you have been in suspense ²  and have gone ³  without food; you have eaten nothing. ⁴ 

But Peter said, “Certainly not, Lord, for I have never eaten anything defiled and ritually unclean!” ¹ 

But get up, ¹  go down, and accompany them without hesitation, ²  because I have sent them.”

What then should we do? They will no doubt ¹  hear that you have come.

because you will be his witness ¹  to all people ²  of what you have seen and heard.

They ¹  went ²  to the chief priests ³  and the elders and said, “We have bound ourselves with a solemn oath ⁴  not to partake ⁵  of anything until we have killed Paul.

But Peter said, “I have no silver or gold, ¹  but what I do have I give you. In the name ²  of Jesus Christ ³  the Nazarene, stand up and ⁴  walk!”

For you have brought these men here who are neither temple robbers ¹  nor blasphemers of our goddess. ² 

Though ¹  they found ²  no basis ³  for a death sentence, ⁴  they asked Pilate to have him executed.

And all the prophets, from Samuel and those who followed him, have spoken about and announced ¹  these days.

When they did not find them, they dragged ¹  Jason and some of the brothers before the city officials, ²  screaming, “These people who have stirred up trouble ³  throughout the world ⁴  have come here too,
